When we woke up yesterday morning to a crisp (yes, chilly) morning?
I had Chad crawl up into the attic and retrieve my “fall shoes” box.
It’s always fun to open up those boxes, because you forget all the little treasures you own! You also forget how MANY you own. I already have a giveaway pile going.
Regardless, I love Fall shoes. Fall sweaters. Everything about Fall.
When it starts out chilly in the morning and warms up during the day, I find it’s best to wear booties and bare legs. That’s what I’ll be doing (i’m sure) for the next few weeks.
No complaints here. I love this look!
This is a favorite Fall dress of mine. The texture is so nice, and I love the colors!
Now, this is obviously not a “work” dress, as it’s a little short.
I already have fun plans for layering with it this winter!

I can’t believe Fall is already here.
And by here, I mean that it’s here for right now. Tomorrow it will probably be 90 degrees.
Because that’s a Texas Fall for ya.
Regardless, I’m loving this weather.
I’m loving this season of life!
So many fun changes, so many new friends, so many things going on!
I can hardly keep up.
This truly is a favorite season of mine. I love getting dressed in the morning with just a few layers, and not being freezing cold all day long. The beginning of Fall truly has the most perfect temperatures. We’ve moved our lunches to the front porch and are enjoying long evening walks around the neighborhood. I’ll be sad when it gets too cold to do so, but I must admit, the thought of sweaters and cozy nights in makes me smile.

It’s become too hard to get out of bed and take photos these days.
This season of my life is so busy! We have so much going on behind the scenes, and not much extra time to do the things I need or want to do!
This past weekend, one of my very good friends got married and I celebrated the end to my 26th year. I woke up Sunday morning to lots of balloons and flowers and an incredible video Chad put together of everyone I love wishing me a happy birthday. It was filled with hilarious moments, sweet moments, and moments that made me cry.
The video literally filled me up, and I did not have ONE second of those birthday blues.
I am such a lucky girl, and I know this 27th year is going to be one of the best years yet!
I call this dress my party dress.
I may or may not have worn it the whole weekend.
Shop Impressions has some pretty adorable Fall dresses, and it makes me so excited for the season that is definitely creeping up on us, slowly but surely!

There is something so wonderful about shifting temperatures right before a new season begins. I love the surprise of waking up extra early one morning for a quick run, and realizing the air has a little bit of a chill to it. It makes getting dressed in the morning a little more bearable. Now, I know as seasons change, people are always wishing for that cooler weather to come a little sooner. Part of me feels that, but the other part of me wishes people would just let seasons be seasons. I am guilty of hurrying along the end of summer, but in the midst of a cold winter? I always wonder why I wished the warm temperatures away….
The grass always seems greener on the other side, hmm?
Last week was really busy around the Hugghins household. (Hence the lack of blog posts!) Chad and I decided to plank panel our kitchen, and well, it turned out to be quite the project. I love the finished product, though! I have always loved the “white” look. I think it might be the perfectionist in me. Loving when things look clean and pretty. (That’s a double edged sword, mind you!) And also, I was surprised how quickly Chad said yes to the all white kitchen! Every time I buy a piece of furniture, he says “as long as you don’t bring it home and paint it white!”
Anyway, we are hustling and bustling to get the inside of the house finished before Fall rolls around. As soon as that chill is in the air, to the outside projects we go!
We have plans to dig up the yard and finally get our hands dirty.
But until we aren’t dripping with sweat and swarmed with mosquitoes? That project is on hold!
Until then, another summer dress, of course!
