Oh, Mexico

Of course there is a fun little video from our Mexico trip. I was actually thinking about how much I love these little snap shots from different times in our lives. It’s fun to remember the seasons of life we were/are in and it will be even more fun when we have kiddos.
Chad always makes them look magical, and I especially love the tropical feel of this one.
Enjoy!

Monday Blues

Posting these photos from our tropical trip this morning is putting me in a bad mood.  Saturday was a beautiful Spring day, and today is freezing cold and rainy.
I firmly believe that every Monday should begin with sunshine.
Unfortunately, the weather does not agree with me.

Adding fuel to the “Monday Blues” fire, my body is literally screaming at me.
Every limb is aching with pain and tylenol is my best friend this morning.
Chad and I spent all day Saturday working in the front yard. Literally seven long hours. No food. Hard labor. I will be doing a little before and after post, and i’m excited to share with you the fruits of our labor.

But for now, I’ll be pretending I’m still sipping tropical drinks until our warm weather blows back in.
Sidenote: Please ignore my “first day” sunburn. Rookie mistake. I did apply sunscreen, however, the angry sun had different plans for my “winter just ended” skin.

Seashells & Seychelles

Reality isn’t quite what I have been experiencing the past few days. Lounging on a chair half submerged in water under a tiki hut cabana, sipping a pina colada and reading a good book?
Unfortunately, that easy breezy lifestyle only lasted a short time, but it was a wonderful mini Cabo getaway with Chad. I honestly needed a break from my job, responsibilities and all of these (never-ending) house projects. It was the perfect amount of rest and relaxation.

I honestly think what they say is true. A little getaway (even just a day off) can really rejuvenate you. Our days were filled with fresh fruit for breakfast, laying by the pool, walks along the beach, good books, endless pina coladas and lots of yummy food.
We are lucky and fortunate to take little trips like that, this I know for sure.
In fact, one of my favorite parts of the trip was a little stroll Chad and I took along the beach. We sat and talked about our life together, our goals and dreams.
What our future looks like. The possibilities.
No phones, no interruptions. It was such a sweet moment in time.
I remember thinking “this is one of those moments I will look back on and remember so vividly.”  It was just he and I a tiny moment within such a joyful, young season in our lives.

On our walk back up the beach toward our resort, we talked about how lucky we are to be able to enjoy a mini vacation.  We passed by a number of men trying to sell jewelry, hats and bathing suit cover ups.  We talked about how, every day, they strolled the shoreline in the sizzling Cabo heat.  Watching all of us spend our money and enjoy our vacations inside the resort, while the stood outside trying to make a living.
It kind of put things in perspective for us, if you know what I mean.
Sometimes it’s easy to forget how good we really have it.

That being said, we did have such a wonderful time.
I absolutely love a good beach vacation.
Every day at dinner, the light cast the most gorgeous glow so taking outfit photos was a breeze.
This Riffraff romper is quite possibly my new favorite summer getup.
